This policy explains what information INO ("the app," "we," "us") collects, why, and how it's handled. INO is a daily-facts app that lets you sign in, save facts, and optionally subscribe to INO+.
You sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. Depending on the provider and your choices, we receive:
To run the app's core features, we store on our servers:
Some settings never leave your device. Your notification preference, your chosen delivery time, and your appearance setting are stored locally on your device only and are not sent to our servers. Your daily reminder is scheduled by your device itself.
If you enable notifications, your device receives a push notification token, which is stored so we can (in the future) send you notifications. Firebase also automatically generates a per-installation identifier as part of how it operates — this happens regardless of whether you use notifications, and is not something we can disable while using push notifications.
We use PostHog to record how the app is used, including screen recordings of your session. These recordings show the screens you visited, what you tapped, and how long you spent on each, so we can see where the app is confusing or where people get stuck.
Recordings are linked to your account identifier so we can understand a single person's experience across sessions. Deleting your account removes this link.
INO+ purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card, billing address, or transaction details. We store only:
To manage or cancel your subscription, use your device's App Store subscription settings — cancelling in the app's own account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription (this is disclosed in the app as well).
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
INO is built on Google Firebase, which provides authentication, our database, and push notification delivery. As a result, data handled by those services is processed on Google/Firebase's servers, located in the United States. We also use PostHog for product analytics and session recordings, hosted in the European Union. The services we use are:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Firebase Authentication | Manages sign-in with Apple and Google |
| Cloud Firestore | Stores your profile, saved facts, and preferences |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivers push notifications |
| Firebase Installations | Generates a per-install identifier, used internally by the above services |
| Firebase Analytics | Collects app usage and engagement data (e.g. which features are used, session activity) to help us understand and improve the app |
| PostHog (EU) | Product analytics and session recordings, used to see which screens people use and where they get stuck. Hosted in the European Union |
If you sign in with Google, Google's own privacy policy also applies to that sign-in step. If you sign in with Apple, Apple's privacy policy applies similarly.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently removes your profile, saved facts, streak, and all associated data from our database, and removes your sign-in credentials. This action cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app via account deletion. For any other requests, contact us using the details below.
If you are in the European Economic Area, please note that data handled by Google Firebase is processed in the United States, as described above. Analytics and session recordings handled by PostHog remain within the European Union.
If you would prefer not to be included in session recordings, contact us using the details below and we will exclude your account.
INO is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
